Margate Police Investigating Pedestrian Death

MARGATE (CBSMiami) – An 80-year-old man was killed Saturday after a driver hit him while crossing the road, said police.

The Margate Police Department is investigating the circumstances of the crash that happened at Coconut Creek Parkway and N. State Road 7 just before 8:30 p.m.

According to officers, Emanuel Forgue, 80, of North Lauderdale was crossing N. State Road 7 when a silver, Nissan Pathfinder struck him.

Police said the driver was Micheline Antoine-Bright of Margate.

Forgue was taken to North Broward Medical center where he died.
