Monday Is Registration Deadline For Special Election In Miami-Dade

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A special election in Miami-Dade County is scheduled for November 5th, but if you want to vote in that election, you only have a few more days to register.

Monday will be the deadline to get registered to vote in the special election.

The special election will include: funding for the modernization and improvement of the Jackson Health System through issuing bonds, plus municipal races in Hialeah, Homestead, Miami, and Miami Beach.

To register to vote, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Be a permanent resident of Miami-Dade County

To register, you can go the Elections Department website and download an online form to fill out. Once completed you can either mail it to the Supervisor of Elections Office or deliver it to the Elections Department.

The address for mailed registration is: Supervisor of Elections, P.O. BOxk 521550, Miami, Florida, 33152

For this option, all forms must be postmarked by October 7, 2013 to be accepted

To hand deliver the registration form, go to 2700 NW 87th Avenue, Doral, Florida, 33172 or at the Stephen P. Clark Center at 111 NW 1st Street, Miami, Florida

For this option, forms must be delivered by 5 p.m. on October 7 to be accepted
