Gas Prices Drop Within The Last Month

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) - After months of holding relatively steady, gas prices have decreased about a dime in the last month.

In Florida, the average price for a gallon of unleaded is $3.34, down from $3.54 a month ago, according to the American Automobile Association. Diesel also decreased over the last month to $3.90 a gallon.

In Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, drivers are paying more than the state average. Regular unleaded is running $3.45 a gallon in Miami and $3.44 in Ft. Lauderdale. A month ago, drivers were paying $3.62 a gallon in Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. A year ago, regular unleaded was averaging $3.82 a gallon.

The Tampa area, where unleaded regular is averaging $3.25 a gallon, is the cheapest place in the state to fill up.

West Palm Beach is the most expensive place to top off the tank; regular unleaded is averaging $3.46 a gallon.
