FHP: Teenager Struck By Car In Critical Condition
KENDALL (CBSMiami) — A teenager is in critical condition after being hit by a car Sunday night.
The crash happened at the intersection of North Kendall Drive and SW 77th Avenue.
After the crash, troopers examined a black Nissan with damage to the front driver's side.
People on the scene said the teenager was crossing the street when he was struck. One person said the impact sounded like a gunshot. The teen was rushed to Miami Children's Hospital in critical condition.
The driver remained at the scene to talk to investigators and troopers say it does not appear alcohol played a role in this crash.
Troopers have not identified the victim, but say he's 16 or 17-years-old.
Several lanes of Kendall Drive remained closed hours after the crash.
