Coast Guard Rescues Boaters Near Marquesas

MIAMI (CBSMiam) — The Coast Guard rescued two men after their boat capsized near Marquesas Monday afternoon.

The boat, "Blue Reaction", was reportedly taking on water.

Coast Guard Station Key West dispatched a boat crew to help the men who were wearing life jackets and floating in the water.

"Wearing your life jacket and equipping your vessel with a VHF radio and Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) greatly improves your chances for survival during emergencies on the water," said Lt. Ricky Brooks, command duty officer at Coast Guard Sector Key West in a press release.

The men were not injured according to Coast Guard officials.
