MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – Picked up on four separate interdictions in the waters off the Keys, 39 Cubans were repatriated by U.S. authorities.
On Saturday, the Coast Guard received two calls regarding unseaworthy vessels. Another vessel was found on Sunday south of Key West, the Coast Guard said Thursday. A fourth vessel, found Monday, was found south of Long Key.
The migrants were taken Wednesday to Bahia de Cabanas, Cuba. The Coast Guard says all the migrants received food, water and basic medical care while aboard U.S. vessels.
