MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Hurricanes enjoyed a rare early season off-week and it cost them in the eyes of the pollsters as the Canes dropped from the Top 15 after only one week.

The Canes dropped just one spot to number 16, behind the Michigan Wolverines int he AP Top 25. In the Coaches Poll, UM was sitting at 17 behind teams like Michigan, UCLA, and Northwestern.

UM hasn’t been on the field since a thrilling victory over the Florida Gators. The Canes return to action this Saturday against a lower-division opponent, Savannah State.

The Alabama Crimson Tide remained on top of the rankings after beating Texas A&M in Texas on Saturday.
