Two Men Rescued Off Florida Coast After Being Adrift For A Week

MIAMI (AP) — Two Bahamian men left adrift for more than a week after their boat capsized off the coast of Florida have been rescued by the Coast Guard.

A Coast Guard helicopter crew hoisted the two men from the hull of the overturned boat east of Riviera Beach on Saturday.

The Coast Guard Sector in Miami received a report of the capsized vessel Saturday afternoon and diverted a boat and helicopter to the area to search for the men. The men told rescuers they had been drifting at sea for eight days and had ingested salt water.

The two men were transferred to Del Ray Medical Center for further treatment.
