Gabrielle No Longer A Tropical Cyclone

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Gabrielle racing northward in the Atlantic. The storm system weakened into a depression early Friday, and then just remnants that will bring heavy rain to Canada.

At 5 p.m., the center of the system was about 320 miles east of Nantucket, Massachusetts, or 180 miles south-southwest of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Gabrielle's maximum sustained winds had decreased to 35 mph as it moved to the north-northeast at 25 mph.

There are no watches or warnings posted for this storm.

The National Hurricane Center forecast called for Gabrielle to dissipate by Friday night and bring rains to coastal Atlantic Canada.
