Decomposed Body Found In Marathon
MARATHON (CBSMiami) – A man's badly decomposed body was discovered in the Florida Keys Friday morning according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
The body of a white male who may have died several weeks ago was located in a wooded area off of Sombrero Road in Marathon.
Deputies said a worker with Marathon Public Works said he smelled something and went to check out where the smell originated.
A medical examiner will work to confirm the man's identity, but detectives said they do have a tentative identification.
The circumstances of the man's death are still being investigated.
