Sticky Fingered Thief Caught On Camera In Weston

WESTON (CBSMiami) – Surveillance cameras captured a sticky fingered shopper at a grocery store in Weston.

Now the Broward Sheriff's Office has released images of the woman in hopes that someone recognizes her and gives them, or Crime Stoppers, a call.

The incident happened at a Publix at 294 Indian Trace around 2:20 p.m.

A matronly woman wearing a purple and pink sleeveless floral top is seen on the security video wandering with a cart through the grocery store aisles, pretending to look at items.

At one point she got close enough to another shopper's cart to peek into her open purse and then, as the distracted shopper looked at groceries, the pink-clad criminal reached into the woman's purse and stole her wallet.

She then navigated her way down an aisle and out of the store. Within seconds, the victim noticed her wallet was gone. A dark grey car was waiting outside the store for the wallet thief and whisked her away.

Anyone with information about this crime is urged to call Crime Stoppers of Broward County at (954) 493-TIPS (8477). Crime Stoppers will pay up to $3,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
