Miami Man To Plead Guilty In Warehouse Heists

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — After pleading guilty to taking part in the theft of about $90 million in prescription drugs from a warehouse in Enfield, Connecticut, a Miami man plans to plead guilty to warehouse thefts in Florida, Kentucky and Virginia.

Amed Villa is scheduled to appear in federal court in New Haven, Connecticut on Wednesday for a change of plea hearing. He was charged with stealing about $12 million worth of cigarettes, cell phones, inhalers and multimedia tablets from the warehouses in the three states.

His attorney, Jonathan J. Einhorn, confirmed Villa plans to plead guilty.

Villa, a Cuban citizen, pleaded guilty last month to theft and conspiracy charges stemming from his participation in the theft at pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly & Co. in 2010.

His brother, Amaury, has pleaded not guilty in Connecticut to the Eli Lilly heist.
