Hollywood Firefighters Help Displaced Residents

HOLLYWOOD (CBS4) – Firefighters who battled a smoky fire at a Hollywood duplex last seek were back in action Saturday helping the residents who lived there.

The firefighters helped board up windows, cleaned up debris and help the residents move things out. The off duty firemen said they just wanted to help.

"This is something that we want to do, whereas when we're on duty it's something we are trained to do," said firefighter Anthony Vera. "We'd like to think that we help everybody out at whatever time. We're always on duty basically."

The fire at 2115 Garfield Street has been called suspicious.
