South Florida Crime
TAMARAC (CBSMiami) – The Broward Sheriff’s Office has arrested the so-called “Red Riding Hood Robber” just days after she robbed two Tamarac businesses at gunpoint.
Lisa Sue Shope was charged with two counts of Robbery with a weapon, according to BSO.
In the first crime, she allegedly robbed an employee at a Tamarac Walgreens in the early morning hours of Thursday, August 15th while wearing a large, red, hooded sweatshirt.
Surveillance cameras captured the heavy-set, middle-aged woman walking into the store around 6:44 a.m. She headed over to the cashier, pointed a handgun at him, handed him a bag and demanded money from the register.
BSO officials said she’s also responsible for robbing a Dollar Tree store on August 17th.
She was apprehended by a BSO sergeant on Sunday who spotted her in the older model, white SUV seen in surveillance video at the scene of the Walgreen’s robbery.
She had no criminal history before the Sunday morning arrest.
