Davie Moves Closer To Sunday Morning Alcohol Sales
DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Town of Davie is one step closer to ending a ban on Sunday morning alcohol sales.
Wednesday evening the Town Council voted unanimously to end a decades-old policy which barred stores from selling boozed before noon on Sundays, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald.
Other Broward cities including Hollywood, Fort Lauderdale and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea have already loosed their laws for selling alcohol on Sundays.
Under Florida law, stores can sell alcoholic beverages as early as 7 a.m. every day of the week unless a local ordinance indicates otherwise.
A final vote on the ordinance to amend the Town Code and allow the sale of alcohol as early as 7 a.m. Sundays will be taken on August 21st.
