Update: Stolen Road Ranger Truck Careens Into Hialeah Apartment Building

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- The case against a South Florida man, accused of carjacking a MDX Road Ranger truck then leading police on a chase in 2013, has been expunged, according to Daniel Lorido.
CBSMiami checked with the Miami-Dade Clerk of Courts, both felony and misdemeanor divisions and confirmed no record of his provided case numbers could be found in the court records.
No further legal action will take place.

HIALEAH (CBSMiami) -- A suspect is in custody after Hialeah Police say he carjacked an MDX Road Ranger truck early Wednesday morning, then led officers on a chase that ended with a crash into an apartment building.
Daniel Lorido, a 21-year-old from Key Biscayne, is in custody and was charged with carjacking the Road Ranger truck, fleeing to allude and drunk driving.
According to police, Lorido stole the truck when the real road ranger stepped out of his vehicle for a minute.
Police said when they tried to pull the driver over for speeding and reckless driving they were unaware that the truck was stolen.
Lorido, around 4:15 a.m., lost control of the truck, and drove through a fence and slammed into an apartment building at West 16th Avenue and 44th Place.
"The car was so severely trapped that we had to use the Jaws of Life, along with the tow truck in order to remove it from the wall and get the guy extricated from the truck," explained Dean Perkerson, District Fire Chief for Hialeah.
Reynaldo Aspuro was home with his wife and four-year-old grandson at the time of the crash. All three were sleeping but not injured.
"I thought it was a bomb," said Aspuro. "It's incredible nobody got hurt."
"A little to the north (the car) and we would have been killed," said Aspuro.
The driver of the MDX Road Ranger suffered no injuries.
The alleged carjacker was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with injuries. Authorities said that once Lorido is released from the hospital, he will be transported to the County Jail.
