Miami Spice Chomps Down On Restaurant Prices

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – If you're in Miami and you're looking to get a great meal for an even better price, you're in luck. Miami Spice is back and providing South Florida with delicious deals.

The two-month event features some of Miami's top restaurants offering three-course meals at discounted prices. Lunch could run you anywhere from $19 to $23 and dinner from $33 to $39.

Each restaurant will feature savory signature dishes created by world-renowned chefs.

"It's just a great way for people to come and try different restaurants that they might not normally go to," said Scott Barrow, Executive Chef of Devon Seafood & Steak in Kendall that opened last January.

Chef Scott said at his restaurants diners will have a variety of dishes to choose from.

"For the entree we'll have a choice of 12-ounce prime steak, a char encrusted Ahi Tuna, a 12-inch pork chop as well as a lobster tail," said Chef Scott.

He showed CBS4's Lisa Petrillo three different full-course meals offered up for the Spice menu this year.

One was a lobster bisque soup with chunks of succulent Maine lobster in the middle followed by a char crusted Ahi tuna dish with parmesan herb roasted potatoes and asparagus in a Foyot sauce. And for dessert is a creamy, crunchy Crème brûlée.

Another three course offering was a light mixed baby greens salad with watercress, feta and toasted pine nuts followed by an entree of a Florida lobster tail, steamed to perfection with sautéed veggies in a light cream and fresh basil sauce. And don't forget dessert, this time it's a scrumptious strawberry shortcake with homemade ice-cream.

These mouthwatering meals and other cheap eats could be found at Miami Spice from August 1 through September 30. For more on participating restaurants and menus visit Ilovemiamispice.com.
