Drier Friday, But Rain Returns For The Weekend

MIAMI (CBS4)  -- The stormy pattern that has brought drenching rain to South Florida will continue, Thursday.

Showers, downpours and thunderstorms are possible again Thursday afternoon.

Thursday morning, parts of Miami Beach and northeastern Miami-Dade County received nearly six inches of rainfall.

Rain chances remain at 60 percent for the afternoon hours, Thursday.

High temperatures Thursday will be between 83 and 87 degrees. However cloud cover could hold temperatures in the lower 80s and upper 70s in some areas.

Winds will be out of the southeast between 5 and 10 mph.

On the water, seas will be around 2 feet with winds out of the southeast at 8 to 13 knots.

Waterspouts are possible and there is a slight rip current risk for Thursday.

Thursday night, temperatures will be in the mid 70s with another chance of rain overnight.

Friday, less cloud cover and increased sunshine is expected.

The rain chances stand at about 20 percent for Friday with high temperatures near 90 degrees.

Rain chances will increase for the weekend to 60 percent again with highs in the mid 80s.
