South Florida Reacts to Zimmerman Verdict

MIAMI (CBS4)- South Floridians expressed their feelings and emotions about the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the death of 17-year old Trayvon Martin.

Many said they were surprised to hear a not guilty verdict.

"I was actually very disappointed about the verdict. I thought justice wasn't served I was really hoping he was convicted if not for the murder two then the manslaughter," said Brandkale Thompson.

Many people CBS4 talked to found the verdict frustrating and seemed perplexed at the jury's decision.

"We want justice and it's crazy what's going on right now," said Carmelo De la Rosa.

Others felt the jury did the right thing.

"I think justice was served I think it was the right verdict with the evidence presented in court," said Christian Adelken.

Whether or not they agree with the jury, many South Floridians say they feel for the family of Trayvon Martin.

"My sympathy goes out to the family just be strong and continue to pray," Thompson said.
