Police: Man Poses As Woman Online To Stage Robberies

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – A Sunrise man is being held without bond accused of posing online as a 'woman' to lure men and rob them.

According to Sunrise Police, Glenford Williams, 19, would steal Facebook pictures of women and use them on the social website Moco Space to start conversations with men.

Police say he pretended to operate an escort service and would text the men on when and where to meet.

Once at the location, police say Williams wearing a ski mask and a grey hoodie would hold up the men using a rifle or a handgun he kept.

Here's how one victim described what happened when he arrived at the location.

"He approached me at the stairs and told me to empty my pockets and I gave it to him.  And he said go downstairs and don't make a noise or anything."

That victim's sister told CBS 4 that her brother is still recovering from being robbed of his money, credit cards and a cell phone.

"It's wrong you don't do that to someone.  It could have been worse, someone could have lost their life."

According to police, there were a total of five victims.
