NAPLES (AP) – Some beach goers in the Naples area had an unwanted toothy visitor.
An eight foot alligator was spotted swimming between Bonita and Barefoot beaches Saturday morning.
Witnesses alerted Collier County park rangers and an alligator handler responded to the scene. The trapper was able to successfully remove the gator from the beach.
The rangers believe the recent bout of heavy rain and flooding might have washed the gator into the Gulf.
