Three Cuban Migrants Picked Up In Marathon

MARATHON (CBSMiami) – As Americans celebrated Independence Day on July 4th, three men who arrived in a makeshift boat in the Florida Keys celebrated their own brand of independence.

Early Thursday morning three men from Cuba landed on Coco Plum Beach in Marathon, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

All three were reportedly in good shape and did not require medical attention.

Around 9:30 a.m, agents with the U.S. Border Patrol arrived and took them into custody.
