Truck Driver's Sentence Reduced For Deadly 2005 Crash

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - The truck driver convicted in a deadly 2005 crash will be getting out of prison sooner than expected.

Flavio Santisteban's sentence has been reduced to 17 years for each victim, to be served concurrently. He will also get credit for time served. In total, he will serve nine more years for the crash that killed four people when his tanker, filled with 9,000 gallons of gasoline, tipped over on the ramp from Interstate 595 and the Turnpike. The truck landed on another car and caught fire, killing everybody inside.

Santisteban's sentence got a second look in June when he successfully won an appeal to have it reduced.
