NORTH BAY VILLAGE (CBS4) – The first rescue units were arriving on the scene of the Shuckers Bar & Grill deck collapse just before 10 p.m. Thursday night.

Rescue units were relaying to dispatchers, in real time, what they were seeing, and what their plan was to deal with this mass casualty incident.

The transmissions of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units give us a better glimpse into the chaos the first responders discovered when they arrived on the scene.

Units were calling for divers, helicopters, help from the Coast Guard, and even FPL to cut the power to prevent anyone from being electrocuted.

In all, roughly 100 people were sent into the bay when the deck gave way beneath them. Thirty three of those 100 were treated for injuries, with most being discharged from the hospital by Friday afternoon.

Police, the City of North Bay Village and the owners of Shuckers have launched an investigation into what caused the deck to collapse.
