Woman Accused Of Profanity Laced Disturbance On Plane

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A woman who caused a disturbance on a Spirit Airlines flight from Baltimore to Ft. Lauderdale appeared before a judge Wednesday morning.

Bond was set at $250 for Heather Dykman, 40, who is charged with disorderly conduct.

Dykman got upset when a flight attendant cut her off.   The flight attendant told Broward Sheriff's deputies that Dykman had two vodka drinks on the flight and was becoming intoxicated.

After being refused another drink, Dykman started screaming and cursing.

Dykman then walked to the galley and yelled "Stop sending your house (racial slur) to do the messages for you," according to her arrest form.  Dykman reportedly refused to return to her seat and continued to scream curses, use racial slurs and flipped off members of the flight crews.

Deputies reported that when they went to remove her from the plane, not only did she continue to use profanities but be became confrontational and refused to place her arms around her back so she could be handcuffed.

When asked by Broward Bond Court Judge John Hurley whether she lived here or was just visiting Dykman, who lives in Maryland, said she was coming to South Florida for a 30 day rehab program.
