Miami-Dade Police Identify Dognapping Duo

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Police have identified a man captured on surveillance video stealing a dog from a Miami-Dade shelter.

According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, Christopher Fisher Alfonso, 24, stole Django from the Miami-Dade Animal Services shelter on May 17th at approximately 5 PM.

Surveillance video shows Alfonso walking into the shelter through an employee entrance gate, taking the one-year-old Belgian Malinois and then leaving through a restricted-access exit.

The video also shows a woman with Alfonso, Jenny Roxanne Cavallo, earlier in the day prior to the theft.  Police believe she may have information about the theft and the possible location of Django.

Anyone with information on Alfonso, Cavallo or the current location of the dog is encouraged to contact the Animal Services Investigations Unit at (305) 418-7172.
