Criss Angel Performs Dangerous Stunt With Alligators In S. Dade

HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami) – Magician and illusionist Criss Angel is in South Florida where he performed a daring and dangerous stunt while suspended above a swamp full of alligators.

The famous illusionist performed his stunt at the Everglades Alligator Farm just south of Homestead.

He calls it the "Trapeze Alligator Escape" illusion.

In the illusion, Criss was shackled over a swamp, filled with more than 250 gators, while covered in blood and chum and locked in a stockade device that no other magician has ever successfully escaped, according to a news release.

His neck, hands and ankles were shackled together. First he had to unshackle his neck and hands causing him to fall closer to the alligators, then he had to free his ankles or be eaten alive.

Criss called it one of the most dangerous illusions he's ever attempted.

The stunt will be part of his new TV show,"Criss Angel BeLIEve" on Spike TV which premieres in October.
