Jungle Island Asks For Help Naming Flamingo
MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Let’s play the name game – but here’s the trick, you won’t know if the baby chick is a boy or a girl until after the contest ends.
The first flamingo of the year has hatched and now Jungle Island is asking for the public to help name it.
The zoological park holds more than 70 flamingos and wants the community to participate in the contest for its new addition to the flock.
The contest started on Tuesday and will run up until June 3rd when the winner will be announced. The winner will also receive tickets to the park, located in Miami, and attend a Miami Marlins game.
After a three day hatching process, the flamingo arrived on Friday and it was looked after over the Memorial Day weekend.
Eight or nine eggs are being incubated as well.
Submissions for the name contest can be sent here.
