Contractor Of Bear Cut Bridge Wants To Keep Drivers Updated

KEY BISCAYNE (CBSMiami) – The contractor responsible for Bear Cut Bridge’s reconstruction in Key Biscayne plans on using technology to keep drivers on the island informed.

Rebuilding of the bridge that links Key Biscayne and Virginia Key is bound to cause traffic delays, as well as questions of the project’s progress.

Therefore, the contractor is working on setting up a website and implementing a text-messaging system to notify drivers of any changes in traffic patterns, including lane changes, as well as construction updates.

As soon as the website launches,, the text-message service will also be available.

Once the website is live, which is expected in the upcoming weeks, residents or visitors interested in receiving bridge updates should text “Bear Cut” to 65047.
