TAMARAC (CBSMiami) – Four people, watching television on a Friday night, were interrupted when a car slammed into their apartment.

The car, according to police, had four people inside when it charged through the sliding glass doors of the apartment located at 7770 NW 78TH avenue in Tamarac.

It appears that the driver of the car was trying to park but instead accelerated, jumped the parking block, and drove into the apartment.

Neighbors said they heard a loud explosion.

“It was a huge explosion and I told my daughter and my grandson and I said let’s get out of here,” said Cesar Gomez, an upstairs neighbor.

Broward Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the accident.
