City Wants Public Weigh-In On Convention Center Redevelopment
MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) - Have an opinion as to what the new Miami Beach Convention center should look like? The city is granting the public a chance to view the proposed plans and models, as well as an opportunity to voice opinions.
On Tuesday two competing development teams, the South Beach ACE/Tishman Group and the Portman Group, showcased renderings and models for the massive 52-acre development of the Miami Beach Convention Center District.
Now the city wants public weigh-in and is holding the following meetings to do so:
May 20 - June 21
(except Memorial Day weekend: Friday, May 24 - Monday, May 27)
Miami Beach City Hall,
First Floor Conference Room, 1700 Convention Center Drive
Monday - Friday: 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturdays: 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Sundays: 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Public meetings:
Wednesday, May 22, 3:00 p.m.
Finance & Citywide Projects Committee
1755 Meridian Avenue, third floor, training room
Tuesday, May 28, 11:00 a.m.

For those interested in attending, the city is offering one-hour free parking at the convention center parking lot.
