MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami firefighters traded in their fire suits for black ties over the weekend.

City of Miami firefighters gathered together to host a fundraiser, where they honored their comrades as well as raised money.

The event was held at the Hilton in Downtown Miami and there were even some firefighter goodies present to heat things up, including a signed baseball bat and a decorated firefighter hat.

Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimienez, a former City of Miami chief, was honored for his service. Present and past firefighters were also recognized for their accomplishments.

Proceeds from the event will be used for fire rescue trucks for the city of Miami.
