Police: Man "Unapologetic" After Pembroke Pines Abduction

MIAMI (CBS4) – A judge has denied bond for a Miramar man who reportedly abducted a woman at gunpoint from her Pembroke Pines apartment complex.

Sayyid Khan, 20, reportedly followed a woman in her 20s a gated Pembroke Pines community.

"The suspect (Kahn) did not know the victim.  This was a random act.  As a matter of fact he woke up that morning with the intent of raping someone and he was going to follow through with that fantasy," said Pembroke Pines police spokesman Al Xiques.

Kahn reportedly forced the woman into his car at gunpoint.  According to his arrest affidavit, the weapon was actually a gas cartridge pellet gun inside a white plastic bag.

The woman's brother saw it happen, was able to get a partial license plate number and called police.

"I need someone now, now, someone took my sister," he frantically told the 9-1-1 operator.

Khan allegedly drove to the Kings Manor Mobile Home Park on State Road 84 near Flamingo Road in Davie where he told the woman to put duct tape over her eyes, according to his arrest report.  He then reportedly attempted to sexually assault her in the back seat.

"He made her get in the back seat, he tried to remove her clothing.  She fought, she felt the firearm against her face and she fought him," said Xiques.

At one point, Khan allegedly struck the woman in the face with the gun.  She was ultimately able to grab the gun and pull the trigger, but it didn't fire.  She then escaped and called for help.

"Someone took me out, someone took me," the woman told 9-1-1.
"Somebody kidnapped you," asked the operator.
"Yes, he tried to rape me," replied the woman.
"Somebody tried to rape you," asked the operator.
"Yes and I am scared," said the woman.

She made the call from a Davie mobile home park. Just as the victim hung up with the operator,  she stumbled upon a woman sitting on her porch.

That woman, Robbin Milen, spoke exclusively with CBS4's Cynthia Demos.

"She had a big lump on the side of her head," said Milen. "I asked if she was alright she said she was scared and I said come sit down".

The Good Samaritan comforted the woman until police arrived. Milen said she was still carrying the gun with her that she stole from her attacker.

Surveillance cameras at the woman's apartment complex reportedly captured Khan following her and then leaving the complex after the abduction. Investigators said the woman's brother getting a partial plate number and the video played an instrumental role in tracking down Khan to his Miramar residence.   He reportedly confessed to the attack and abduction during questioning.

"He was unapologetic and told us he was proud of what he did," said Xiques.

Khan has been charged with armed kidnapping, armed attempted sexual battery, aggravated battery with a weapon, aggravated assault with a firearm and battery.

Gonzalez said considering what happened his niece is okay.

"She's got bruises and stuff like that," Gonzales said. "She fought her way out and lucky enough for her and us she's doing quite well."

Gonzalez also said the family was grateful to the Pembroke Pines Police Department and the Davie Police Department for their "fast and efficient" response to the case.
