Thousands Of Honda Fits Recalled

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Thousands of late model Honda Fits are being recalled because of a possible electronic stability control issue.

The automaker issued the voluntary recall for more than 46,000 Fits – model years 2012 and 2013.

Honda said the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system on Honda Fit Sports with certain tires may allow the car to tilt too far before it applies the brakes to prevent a crash. Honda is not aware of any related crashes or injuries.

Customers who bought vehicles affected by the recall will be notified by mail beginning in May. Owners can also go to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (800) 999-1009, and selecting option 4 to see if their car is falls under the recall.

Recalled vehicles will get a free VSA software which should fix the problem.
