South Florida Crime

DAVIE (CBSMiami) – Police are looking for the driver of a dark colored SUV who reportedly tried to lure three girls into the vehicle as they walked to school.

It happened Monday just after 7 a.m. in a parking lot at 6550 SW 39th Street in Davie. The lot is adjacent to the Davie Christian Academy and down the street from the Davie Elementary where the girls go to school.

Surveillance cameras recorded when the man’s SUV, believed to be a Suzuki XL7, entered and left the lot.

On Wednesday, police put out flyer with pictures of the vehicle and a description of the man hopes that someone recognizes the SUV or the man and gives them a call.

The man was described as being Hispanic, in his mid-20s, with short to medium length hair and the hair on the top of his head was spiked. The girls told police he had brown eyes with bushy eyebrows. He also had a short trimmed, scruffy mustache and mumbled when he spoke.

Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Adam Granit at (954) 693-8365.
