BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBSMiami) – Two brothers are in jail following a fatal stabbing at the Cuthill’s Backyard bar early Saturday morning. One of the men wouldn’t accept his fate, trying to stab a police officer as he attempted to take him into custody.

Officers were conducting an extra patrol at the bar at 511 N.E. 4th St., just before 1 a.m., when they were alerted to a fight between patrons.

Officers saw Vakhtang Magradze, 27, stab Ryan Gill, 33, multiple times.

Several patrons and employees of the bar tried to intervene. In the process, two Cuthills employees were stabbed by Magradze.

Magradze was ultimately taken into custody. His brother, Alexandre Magradze, was also taken into custody.

Gill was transported to Delray Trauma Center where he died from his injuries. The other two victims’ injuries were not life threatening.

The Magradze brothers were taken to Bethesda Hospital with minor injuries. Both are now in the Palm Beach County Jail.

Vakhtang Magradze was charged with 2nd-degree murder, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, and two counts of aggravated battery. Alexandre Magradze was charged with affray.
