Car Slams Into Margate Apartments

MARGATE (CBSMiami) – Yellow police tape stretched across a section of a Margate apartment building Wednesday morning after a man drove into it with his car.

The elderly man behind the wheel slammed into Apt. 101 in building 90 of the Oriole Gardens apartments at 7310 NW 1st Street.

Margate Fire Rescue Chief Dan Booker said the man was not injured nor was anyone in the apartments.  The man, however, was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.

There was significant structure damage to two apartments.
