Police ID Man Killed In N Dade Hit & Run

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police have released the name of a man who was stuck and killed Sunday morning.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. on NW 151 Street.

Alejandro Hermis, 50, who was riding a small bicycle, was struck from behind by an SUV at 2nd Avenue. Witnesses told investigators that Hermis was dragged for about 50 feet. They said the driver stopped twice to try and dislodge Hermis from underneath the vehicle.

Once it did come free, the driver sped off.

According to witnesses, the SUV was a light-colored 2011-2013 Dodge Durango which will have minor front-end damage.
