N Lauderdale Girl Recovering After Three Story Fall

NORTH LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A North Lauderdale girl was rushed to the hospital after she fell from a third story window.

It happened Sunday around 12:45 p.m. at an apartment building at 8030 Hamptons Boulevard, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The five-year old was airlifted to Broward Heath Medical Center.   Initially the sheriff's office said her injuries did not appear to be life threatening.  In a release to the media later in the day they updated their earlier statement to say that she was in critical condition.

Investigators said it appears the girl was leaning against a screen when it gave way and she fell.
