MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Florida Power and Light workers are monitoring efforts to put out a stubborn grass fire in SW Miami-Dade which is threatening homes and their utility poles.
The fire broke out Sunday afternoon in the area of SW 147th Avenue and SW 215th Street.
FPL workers said after it is safe they will check the poles and wires for damage. At this time they do not have any reports of outages nor do they have plans to cut the power to the area as a precautionary measure.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue did not give an estimate as to when they thought they would have it under control.
