Bicyclist Dragged Under SUV In Hit & Run

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A bicyclist was killed by a hit and run driver in northern Miami-Dade early Sunday morning.

Now police are looking for that driver and could use the public's help.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. on NW 151 Street.

The man, who was riding a small bicycle, was heading East when he was struck from behind by an SUV at 2nd Avenue. Witnesses told investigators that the man was dragged for about 50 feet. They said the driver stopped twice while trying to dislodge the man from underneath the vehicle.

Once the man's body came loose, the driver sped off.

Police have not released the name of the man who died.

According to witnesses, the SUV was a light-colored 2011-2013 Dodge Durango which will have minor front-end damage.
