Fire Rescue Truck Overturns In Fort Lauderdale Crash

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Five people were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon, including a firefighter, after a Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue unit overturned in a crash with another vehicle.

The fire rescue truck was transporting a patient to Broward Health when the crash took place in the 1500 block of Davie Boulevard shortly before noon, according to Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue spokesman Matt Little.

A firefighter and a person from the car were transported as “level 2 trauma alerts” and three others were transported as “basic life support” patients, according to Little.

No word yet on how the crash happened.
