Surveillance Video Shows Davie Radio Shack Robbery

MIAMI (CBS4) - Surveillance video shows a masked gunman running into a Davie Radio Shack to rob it, terrifying the 4 people inside.

"As soon as the suspect is coming toward the store," said Davie Police Captain Dale Engle.  "The employees notice the man has his face covered with some type of white material and brandishing a fire arm."

Two employees saw him coming and ran out the back door.  Two customers first were ordered to the ground, but then made a run for it themselves, said Engle.

Minutes after this robbery, an AT&T store was hit not far away.  Inside, employees and customers were ordered to the ground, and then locked in a back room.

Police believe these guys are professionals.

"At this time we believe it is not only related to a robbery that occurred at the AT&T store on the same day in Davie, but a string of them," said Capt. Engle.   "The description is the same and the M.O. is the same."

Police are checking surveillance video from all over South Florida to look for similarities.

One example is a terrifying ordeal when gunmen barged into a Pompano Beach Radio Shack just over two months ago.  Surveillance video shows everyone ordered to the ground, then hustled into the back and pushed into a storage room where they huddled frightened until a customer came in the store.

In this latest Radio Shack heist the customers and employees were lucky, they were able to run to safety before the gunman could order them around.

That crook ended up running out the back door, getting away with nothing.
