Police ID Man Killed On Sunrise Golf Course

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – Police have released the name of the man who was shot to death early Monday on a Sunrise golf course.

They say he was 34 year old Adika Heslope and his last known address was in North Lauderdale.

Employees of two businesses near the golf course said police looked at their surveillance videos to determine if the shooting stemmed from an altercation either inside or outside those businesses.

Investigators said on Monday, around 4 a.m., a female police officer in her patrol car heard a series of shots near the Seven Bridges at Springtree Golf Club at 37th Street and North University Drive.

When the officer arrived at the scene, she discovered two cars with bullet holes and the dead body on the golf course.

The golf club is located near a Hooters restaurant and near the Goldfinger Gentlemen's Club and the Fins and Things Seafood Bar and Grill.

Police have not said what the motive was in this shooting and they have not identified any suspects.

Anyone who can help is encouraged to call Sunrise Police or Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
