SUNRISE (CBSMiami) — Starting Monday, residents of Weston, Southwest Ranches and Davie who get their water from the City of Sunrise will notice a different taste.

Sunrise utility officials will be using free chlorine in the water until March 11th to battle any bacteria which may be in the lines, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

The treatment will slightly change the color of the water, taste, odor and taste, but it will be safe to drink.

Some aquatic and marine animal species are sensitive to free chlorine. If you have tropical fish tanks you should contact your pet supply store and ask about dechlorination.
