Expect To See Strange Lights Over Homestead Base Early Thursday

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Residents of Homestead up very early may notice strange lights in the sky Thursday morning.

No – it won't be alien space ships, ghost or some other paranormal phenomena. It will be the U.S. Army parachute team "The Golden Knights" doing nighttime training jumps over Homestead Air Reserve Base.

The training jumps will get underway around 3 a.m. and should wrap by 9 a.m.

Area residents will see lights descending in the skies over Homestead Air Reserve Base during these hours. The team will be using flares and other illumination devices as part of their training.

This is the fourth year the parachute team has been at the base conducting their winter training. Homestead ARB is the winter home to the world famous parachute team that is home based out of Ft. Bragg, N.C.
