Firefighters Pull Women From Smoky Lauderhill Apt. Fire

LAUDERHILL (CBSMiami) – Firefighters in Lauderhill rescued at least two women from a burning apartment building Friday afternoon as thick, black smoke enveloped the unit right next to them.

When Chopper 4 arrived on the scene, the smoke billowed from a 5th story apartment at the Inverrary 441 Apartment building located at 1192 North State Road 7.

Firefighters used a cherry picker to reach two women on a balcony next to the burning unit.

Each woman carefully walked onto the cherry picker for a slow ride down to the ground and to safety.

There is no word on what caused the fire or whether anyone was hurt.
