Saturday Is Last Chance To Trade Guns For Gift Cards, Heat Tix

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Mayor Tomas Regalado, City Commissioners, The Miami Police Department and the Rickia Issac Foundation will be hosting the city's last gun buyback operation on Saturday.

The event will be held at San Juan Bosco Church, 1301 W. Flagler Street, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anyone may drop off a firearm -- no questions asked -- and receive Miami Heat tickets or a Sedano's Supermarket or Ideal Baby Store gift certificate provided by the city's partners and sponsors, which are Dade Medical College, Padron Cigar Company and Ideal Baby Store.

Mayor Regalado stated, "I am urging the community to join us in this effort to reduce gun violence.  So far, over 200 guns were turned in.  Let's work together for a safer Miami."  The "no questions asked" program will allow individuals to anonymously dispose of firearms.
