MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Congressman Joe Garcia joined the South Florida Council of Firefighters in hosting Achilles International for their wheelchair tune-up.
The tune-up session took place Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Metro-Dade County IAFF Union Hall.
Achilles International consists of wounded veterans and disabled athletes who have been competing in the ING Miami Marathon for the past six years.
Firefighters from area departments assisted with tuning wheelchairs and providing the more than 75 team, family, and staff members with a pasta dinner prior to Sunday’s big event.
