MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Saturday, the City of Miami will hold its second gun buyback event of the year, coming off the heels of an extremely successful event last weekend.

Last Saturday, the Miami Police Department and the Rickia Issac Foundation collected 130 guns at the Model City NET in Liberty City. Those who dropped off a weapon received Miami Heat tickets, or their choice of gift certificates to Winn Dixie Supermarkets or Walmart.

The next gun buyback event will be held at St. John Baptist Church, located at 1328 NW 3rd Avenue, in Overtown from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Anyone turning in what police determine to be an “assault rifle” will receive two premium 100 level Miami Heat tickets for a weekend game in the month of March.

On Saturday, Feb. 3rd, a buyback event will be held at San Juan Bosco Catholic Church, located at 1301 West Flagler Street, in Little Havana from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
